P5-M Fake jeans seized
in Pasay.
SOME P5 MILLION WORTH OF FAKE Lee jeans were seized by
agents of national Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during
a series of raids in Pasay City recently.
Raided were the retail
outlets and stockroom of jessica C. Mamangon RTW Shop at
Sunnyline Shopping Shopping Center and Galleria Baclaran
Shopping Mall on Taft Avenue, Pasay City.
Agents of the NBI
Intellectual Property Rigths Division (IPRD) also
swooped down on C.M. Lacang General Merchandise's stalls
and stockrooms-all located at Galleria Baclaran Shopping
Mall. Seized from the establishments were 3,232 pieces
of counterfeit Lee jeans.
IPRD chief Jose Justo
Yap said they had received information that the owners
of the establishments were selling fake Lee pants.
NBI agents monitored the
operations of the establishments and later confirmed
that the information was correct. Yap said owners of the
erring firms will be charged with violating Section 155
(trademark infringement) in relation to Section 170 of
Republic Act8293.
