Fake shoes seized
Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)
seized P1.5 million worth of counterfeit Vans rubber shoes
during simultaneous raids conducted in Pasay City last week.
Agents of the NBI
Intellectual Property Rigths Division (IPRD) headed by
lawyer Jose Justo Yap raided the stockrooms of Aho Tan
in Alok Building at 3030 Agtarap Street.
The Operations were
conducted after NBI agents placed the establishments
under surveillance and conducted test buys to confirm
the evidence gathered by Orion Support Incorporated (OSI),
a market research firm representing Vans.
Charges of trademark
infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the
Philippines or Republic Act 8293 are being prepared
against the owner of the raided establishments.
