NBI raids computer shops
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation have seized P650,000 worth of computers containing unathorized software programs during simultaneous raids conducted on establishments in Makati, Paranaque, Muntinlupa and Manila.
Raided recently were Pantertech on Evangelista Street, Bangkal, Makati City; Compex Sucat Inc. at SM City Sucat in Paranaque; Brochiere Computers at Festival Supermall in Alabang, Muntinlupa; and Save on Surplus at SM City Manila.
NBI Intellectual Property Rights Division Chief Elfren Meneses said the raids were prompted by complaints from Microsoft Corp. about the firm's unathorized use of its software.
