The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided a contractor company's
offices in Parañaque City and Nueva Ecija for allegedly installing unlicensed
Microsoft and Autocad.
The NBI also confiscated the 40 computers from the offices of the
China Geo Engineering Phil-Corporation on East Aguinaldo Boulevard, Asiaworld City in Parañaque and San
Jose, Nueva Ecija.
The company is reportedly a contractor and receives jobs to build and repair
roads, irrigation canals and dams all over the country.
The NBI reportedly received information that the firm uses pirated copies
of Microsoft and Autocad in their computers. After conducting a surveillance
operation, they were able to secure a search warrant and raided the two offices.
A pirated copy of Microsoft and Autocad software costs P100 compared to the
P250,000 for each original Autocad software program.
